Aspera's patented fasp™ technology eliminates the bottlenecks of conventional file transfer technologies and allows secure transfers to take full advantage of whatever network is available. This allows companies to take time out of the process of collecting, moving and distributing large data sets across global digital supply chains to more quickly react to customer changes and exceed their expectations. Signing database with Server ID not possible after upgrade to Notes 9.0.1

I had the issue, that I was not able to sign a database on a server with the Server ID after upgrading the client to R9.0.1.

After opening a PMR ( 76570,010,618 ) I received the information from Lotus Support:

On further investigation I found a similar customer report where an admin was having problems signing databases since upgrading the Admin client to 9.0.1.

The issue was found to be caused by the admin having his own name in there personal address book, my contacts and recent contacts. When removed, the issue was addressed.

Please check the following:
- Open your contacts names.nsf and remove your own name from my contacts and from recent contacts and restart the Notes client.
- Afterwards see if can you sign databases successfully.

VMware buys AirWatch for $1.54 billion, acquires mobility strategy

VMware will acquire AirWatch, a mobile device management company, in a $1.17 billion cash deal that will give the virtualization software provider a play in mobility. VMware will also pay $365 million in installment payments and unvested stock options. Mobile device management has been a hot sector desperately in need of consolidation given there are more than 100 vendors. Large enterprises increasingly want mobile device management put together with content management and collaboration. VMware's spin is that AirWatch will give it a foothold in mobility as well as its end-user computing strategy, which revolves around desktop virtualization and delivering enterprise apps to tablets and smartphones. According to VMware, AirWatch will continue to be led by CEO John Marshall. AirWatch will be lumped into VMware's end-user computing group, which is led by Sanjay Poonen, general manager. AirWatch's co-founder Alan Dabbiere will be on the unit's operating board…

8 Tips to get Senior Partners to Understand the Value of Enterprise Social Networks

A great article from Guy Alvarez about the value of Enterprise Social Networks. Thanks Guy for posting this !

In my last post, Why developing personal brands is crucial for professional services firms, I wrote about a book that I had recently read called The Social Employee: How Great Companies Make Social Media Work by Cheryl and Mark Burgess. In the book, the author writes about the importance of employee collaboration and communication. One of the keys to helping employees become social employees is to help them trust each other and the company they represent. One quote in particular stood out for me. “In order for employees to properly communicate externally, they must first learn to communicate internally.”

The problem, however, is that most senior partners don’t have the knowledge to understand the value of social media, yet alone the power of enterprise social networks “ESN’s”. In a previous post, I provided 8 tips get senior partners to underst…
